Rules for 2020
Participation
The European Youngster Cup is a series for athletes from 16 up to and including 25 years of age (for 2020 Athletes age group 1995-2004). A maximum of two horses per athlete (seven years and older) are permitted.
European Youngster Cup U25 Jumping Competitions
- Three jumping competitions (an Opening Competition, with a height of 1.35 m or 1.40 m, a qualifying competition with a height of 1.40m and a Grand Prix U25 (counting for the Longines Rankings) with a height of 1.45m (= ranking competition EY Cup U25) at each leg of the EY Cup U25 series. The Table to be used for the Opening and Qualifying Competition is up to the OCs (Opening competition preferably Art. 238.2.1 - penalties and time; Qualifying Competition either 238.2.1 – penalties and time, 274.1.5.3 – two phases or 238.2.2 – with jump-off); the EY Cup U25 Jumping competition must be run according to Jumping Rules Art. 238.2.2 (one round with Jump-off) or Art. 273.3.3.1 or 273.3.3.2 (Two Rounds). These competitions must be held either at stand-alone CSIU25 Cat. A events or CSIU25 Cat. A events held concurrently with a CSI2* - CSI5*(-W) event.
- Athletes may start up to two horses in the opening and/or Qualifying Competition and one horse in the Grand Prix competition of the CSI U25 (if there are 50 Athletes or less entered in the Grand Prix competition, the OC may allow each Athlete to ride two Horses) according to the schedule.
- Minimum prize money for the EY Cup U25 Jumping competition: 4.000 €
- The winners of the EY Cup U25 Jumping competition at each event are allowed to start in the Final, to be held at Salzburg (AUT) from 2-6 December 2020.

2020 EY Cup U25 Final

The Final Event is open to the following:
- The three best athletes from the North American Championships Young Riders.
- The three best athletes from the North American leg(s) of the EY Cup U25.
- The 2020 National Young Riders Champion of each NF with athlete(s) who have taken part in at least one leg of the 2020 EY Cup U25.
- The overall winner of the EY Cup U25 2019, provided he/she is within the age group 1995- 2004.
- The winner of the Deutschen U25 Springpokals Final, age group 1995-2004.
- The winner of the EY Cup competition of each leg.
- Additional athletes, in any case a minimum of ten, will be selected in descending order from the EY Cup U25 Jumping ranking list established after the last qualifying leg.

Jumping Competition with Jump-Off – international
U25 Grand Prix of Salzburg
Open to: | the best 16 athletes from the Qualifying Competitions 1 & 2, plus those ex aequo on the 16th place with a horse of their own choice according to the following point system: Winner in competition N° 1 + 2: number of starters in competition N° 1 + 1 point Second in competition N° 1 + 2: number of starters in competition N° 1 – 1 point Third in competition N° 1 + 2: number of starters in competition N° 1 – 2 points etc. If an athlete withdraws the next best athlete moves up. |
Points: | The points in Competition N° 2 (2nd qualifier for the Final) are multiplied by a factor of 1.5. The points in Competition N° 3 (EY Cup U25 Jumping Final) are multiplied by a factor of 2. |

EY Cup U25 Jumping Overall Ranking:
The six best results of each Athlete in the EY Cup U25 qualifying legs and the points earned in Competitions 2 and 3 of the EY Cup U25 Jumping Final count towards the EY Cup U25 Jumping overall ranking.
Point System
Athletes may obtain points only in the EY Cup U25 Jumping competition at each event; only the six best results of each Athlete will count towards the EY Cup U25 Jumping ranking. For athletes participating with two horses in an EY Cup U25 Jumping competition, only the results of the best horse will count for points. The following point system will be used for each qualifying competition:

The points in Competition N° 2 (2nd qualifier at the EY Cup U25 Jumping Final) are multiplied by a factor of 1.5. The points in Competition N° 3 (Final at the EY Cup U25 Jumping Final) are multiplied by a factor of 2.
No points are given to athletes who retire or are eliminated.
Prizes in kind with a total value of approximately € 2.000 will be offered to the highest ranked Athlete on the EY Cup U25 Jumping overall ranking
